Father’s Day is Sunday June 19th – how will you show your appreciation for the Fathers in your life?

So many men are difficult to buy for. They either say they do not need anything, or you are trying to get a gift for a man that already has everything.

Weber King of the Grill Fathers Day FlowersIf this sounds like your dad, think outside the box this year and give him the gift of flowers. Flowers or a planter is the perfect way to let dad know you’re thinking about him on Father’s Day. The great thing about gifting Father’s Day flowers for dad is that you can get them sent right to his door. This is a great gift option especially if you won’t be able to see him on Father’s Day, but want to let him know you’re thinking of him.

A custom written card makes the gift personal and thoughtful, as you can write anything that will be meaningful to dad.

We have crafted several arrangements and planters that are perfect flowers for men, including flower arrangements that are displayed in a truck, boat or a mug.

Contemporary New Years Flowers

Mod About You

The New Year is an opportunity to start new things, try new things and let go of some old that have kept one down. It is also a great time to set your own trends and a fun place to start is with your New Years Flowers. You can go with traditional flowers used to celebrate the holidays, or you can go off the beaten path and bring a entirely new look into your home just with flowers! Think contemporary flowers. This can be in a an exotic nature or colors of flower arrangements you would not necessarily combine such as purples with greens and orange tones together.

Traditional New Year Flowers are generally deep blues, whites, and even left over Christmas flowers. Why not try decorating with flowers such as orchids or Amaryllis? Both are gorgeous flowers and can add accents to your home that emit class, sophistication, and new beginnings!

Choose flowers that exude the holiday spirit. If you are sending New Year flowers to another, you may want to play it a little safer and stick to more traditional arrangements, but for your own home, bring in the New Year in a new light with a fresh look at flowers! Pick up on the upcoming color trends for the year. Have fun with them and do not limit yourself. There really is never a wrong flower for any occasion!

Keeping your Christmas Greenery Fresh

Golden Greetings Fresh Door Swag

Christmas greenery such as garland and wreaths add the perfect accents to your Christmas décor. You want them to last as long as the season and often times longer to bring in the New Year. With just a few simple tips, you can keep your live Christmas greenery, green and fresh right through the New Year!

When you order your Christmas Greenery online through Brant Florist you can be assured you get the freshest, greenest, live greenery and that is the biggest of the tips I have for you. Starting with fresh live greenery is important in their longevity.

When your beautiful Christmas greenery is delivered, avoid placing it in locations here it is exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time or heat. This will help extend it’s life by reducing drying factors of the sun and heat.

Spray indoor wreaths, garland, swags, and other greenery with a hand held mister once on a weekly basis. If you have no other option then to place your Christmas greenery in direct sunlight, mist it at least twice a week. It is best to water/mist your greenery with spring or well water. Chlorinated water can actually dry the greenery out somewhat. When your Christmas flower arrangements contain Christmas greenery, pay close attention to water level. Christmas greens are greedy and will suck up all the water fast; make sure the flowers are getting their fair share!

Keeping your Christmas Flowers Fresh

Silver Lining

Flowers are a lovely gift to receive for Christmas. When you do get such a wonderful gift, you want to take the extra measures to keep your Christmas flowers fresh for as long as possible. To keep your Christmas flowers fresh for an extended period of time, follow these easy steps:

Check your Christmas flowers daily to ensure it has proper water. Your Christmas flower vase, container, or liner should always have fresh room temperature water. Even floral arrangements with Styrofoam liners should have adequate water to keep your Christmas flowers as fresh as possible. When ever you completely change the water in your Christmas flower arrangements, makes sure to clean the container as well. Use the fresh flower food the florist provides on delivery with all flowers. Use as directed. Improper use can actually cause more damage and premature aging of your flowers.

Every few days trim the stems of your Christmas flowers back to give them a better drink way to intake fresh water. Cutting the steam at an angle also gives the flowers the best chance of taking up fresh water. Remove any spent or damaged blooms or foliage that falls below the waterline in the vase.

If you are concerned of disturbing the Christmas flower arrangement order, simply tie a piece of twine around the stems just above the vase line. While holding your Christmas flowers from twine tied location gently turn over, cut stems with sharp scissors, and return to vase, arrangement unharmed.

Be sure no debris is floating in the water (such as leaves and stem parts) as this could promote the growth of bacteria, which can shorten a flower’s life. Most flowers prefer temperatures between 65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit (18 to 22 degrees Celsius) and are best displayed away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, directly under ceiling fans, or on top of televisions or radiators, which give off heat and can cause flowers to dehydrate.

Following these few simple steps will help extend the life of your Christmas flowers while keeping them fresh.
